London CND’s policy motion, below, on the nuclear exploitation of the global south was overwhelmingly carried at the 2023 CND conference. Carol Turner moved the motion on behalf of London, highlighting that it built on Christian CND’s call to explore ways of encouraging greater involvement by Muslim communities. 

‘Almost without exception,’ she said, ‘those impacted were black, indigenous, and first nation people. Developing and testing nuclear weapons cannot be separated from colonial exploitation, or the racism that goes with that.’
