‘An Alternative Vision of Security for France and the UK’ – London conference

  • The Community Hall, St Anne’s Church, 55 Dean Street, London W1D 6AF (map)

From CND

Fifteen years on from the signing of the Lancaster House Treaties in November 2010, Keir Starmer and Emmanuel Macron have reaffirmed their commitment to the joint development of the two countries’ nuclear arsenals and a vision of security based on the illusion of nuclear deterrence. Join CND for this conference, where speakers from France and the UK will consider alternative visions of security and the need for nuclear disarmament.

With guest speakers Bishop William Kenney, co-author of ‘Called to be Peacemakers: A Catholic approach to arms control and disarmament’; Dr Joanna Frew, Outreach Coordinator for Rethinking Security; Msgr Bruno-Marie Duffé, Secretary Emeritus of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development; and Etienne Godinot, co-founder of the Mouvement pour une Alternative Non-Violente.

The event will take place at the Community Hall, St Anne’s Church, 55 Dean Street, London W1D 6AF. The conference will be followed by a peace walk and vigil in the afternoon.
