North London

  • Finchley

    Hiroshima and Nagasaki Remembrance Ceremony – August 8th, 11am

    Victoria Park, Ballards Lane, Finchley N3. Meet by the commemorative cherry tree next to the café. A minute’s silence will be held in memory of the victims of Hiroshima, Nagasaki, nuclear weapons, and war. Participants are invited to bring flowers to lay beneath the tree, followed by tea and discussion at the café.

  • Haringey

    Hiroshima and Nagasaki Commemoration Stall – August 5th, 5–6:30pm

    Corner of Archway and Muswell Hill. Haringey CND will hold a stall and leafleting session to commemorate the victims of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, alongside the Hiroshima commemorative tree planted by Highgate CND many years ago.

South London

  • Bromley Borough

Hiroshima vigil  - August 1st 12- 3pm 

Meet opposite the Churchill Theatre then leafleting in Bromley High Street and procession to Church House gardens lake at 4pm.

Nagasaki Day  -  Peace Picnic - August 9th  1.00 – 3.00pm

Archbishop Tutu Peace Garden, Chinbrook Meadows, Grove Park SE12. Statements, poems and singing.

  • Kingston

    Hiroshima Day Ceremony – date TBC

    Annual ceremony at Canterbury Gardens, with a new daytime silent vigil in the town centre.

  • Bromley, Lewisham & Greenwich, and Sydenham & Forest Hill

    Peace Picnic – August 5th, 6–9pm

    Mycenae House, 90 Mycenae Road, London SE3 7SE. Bring food and drink to share. At 7pm there will be a minute's silence, followed by poetry and music in remembrance of the victims of Hiroshima and in support of peace and nuclear abolition. Everyone is welcome. Organised by Forest Hill & Sydenham CND, Lewisham & Greenwich CND, and Bromley CND.

  • Merton

    Hiroshima Day Vigil – August 6th, 7–9pm

    Rushmere Pond, Wimbledon Common. An evening of remembrance organised by Merton Peace Coalition/CND, featuring music, poetry, and the annual lantern ceremony to commemorate the victims of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Families are welcome, and participants are invited to bring a picnic.
